ABOUT US
Champions of Change is a student group at the University of Alberta affiliated with Plan International Canada, a non-profit organization. While planning efforts to support the international efforts of Plan International Canada, we are equally passionate about serving our local community. Our group has created and maintained close relationships with several community organizations as well as other student groups across Canada.
ABOUT OUR AFFILIATE ORGANIZATION
Plan International Canada
Our affiliate non-profit, Plan International Canada, is a humanitarian organization working to advance children’s rights and equality of girls in over 75 countries. Plan International Canada works to tackle the root causes of barriers facing girls and all vulnerable children. In addition, the organization places a great emphasis on achieving gender parity both within Canada and abroad.
Plan International Canada’s projects are focused on 8 core areas: child protection, climate change, education, economic empowerment, emergencies, gender equality and inclusion, healthcare, and water and sanitation.
